A TITANIC BREAK B569 Y569
Lough Neagh & The Mountains of Mourne
The RMS Titanic, built in Belfast in 1912 by Harland & Wolff for the White Star Line, is undoubtedly the most famous ship in history. At the time it was the largest passenger ship afloat and considered unsinkable, of course we all know how it ended, but the myth of the Titanic is alive and well and still today people are attracted by the legend of this vessel.

    INCLUDED EXCURSIONS
Tuesday: BELFAST & THE TITANIC We meet our tour guide, the great grand-daughter of a Titanic survivor, who will be able to give us an insight into the Titanic’s key points in Belfast. We will stop at the Titanic’s Dock & Pump House, the Titanic Memorial and outside the exteriors of the houses of both the former shipyard chairman, Lord Pirrie and the Titanic’s chief designer, Thomas Andrews. Time at leisure, then our guide shows us more of Belfast’s hidden treasures including a historical pub walking tour including one drink before we return to our hotel.
Wednesday: THE MOUNTAINS OF MOURNE Enjoy a guided tour of the Mourne Mountains including the Silent Valley (NB: Possibly low difficulty walking involved), then on to Downpatrick and Castle Ward (admission included). Our return is via the Ards Peninsula.
Thursday: LOUGH NEAGH CRUISE & BARBECUE We cruise on one of Europe’s largest freshwater lakes where we learn all about the historic settlements found in the area and view the varied wildlife and bird colonies which inhabit the shores. We stop on Coney Island, the only inhabited island on the lake, where we include a barbecue picnic.
